Our first Zone Conference

A few weeks ago we travelled to Bend to attend our first Zone Conference. It was great to meet more of the missionaries and to become acquainted with the other senior couples. The main focus of the conference was IMAGE.
President Young talked to us about how we should appear to others and that we should always strive to have Christ's image in our countenance. President Lowary talked to us about always following the counsel of the mission president. A nice lunch was served and some of the missionaries performed songs and other fun things. We senior missionaries have something planned for next time which should entertain the younger missionaries. And birthday's for the upcoming quarter were acknowledged.

After lunch we painted rocks! The activity was based on the scripture in Helaman 5:12
And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."
We each picked a goal to focus on and painted it on a rock reminding us that our foundation is built upon the rock of Christ. Both Elder Terry and I picked the same goal without even seeing each other's ahead of time: Bring one soul to Christ each month. We keep our rocks on a table in our living room to help remind us of our purpose here.
This is our zone. A great group of people!
